Frequently asked

A few things before you taxi.

Squadron Sync is being built as a friendly awareness tool for private aviation communities.

What is a Squadron?

A Squadron is a private group containing the aircraft and people you want to follow together. You can belong to more than one—for example, a family Squadron and a flying-club Squadron.

Can people outside my Squadron see it?

Squadrons are designed to be invite-based. Shared invitation links can offer a limited, read-only view; membership and editing remain controlled by the group.

Do pilots need extra equipment?

Squadron Sync uses available third-party aircraft-position data. It does not require a separate Squadron Sync tracker, though visibility depends on the aircraft’s equipment, coverage, and the selected data provider.

Will it work for non-pilots?

Yes. Clear language, simple Flying/Ground/Not Detected states, familiar names, and large touch targets are central to the design.

Is Squadron Sync a flight-safety tool?

No. It is a shared situational-awareness and communication aid. It must not be used for navigation, traffic separation, search and rescue, dispatch, or time-critical safety decisions.
